WEGEMT visited the European Maritime Day 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal on 16 May 2019. The European Maritime Day (EMD) is the annual two-day event during which Europe’s maritime community meet to network, discuss and forge joint actions.
WEGEMT had the opportunity to meet with policy makers, industry representatives and other key organizations in the maritime sector to discuss hot topics that concern the marine European higher education as well as the research projects in which WEGEMT is currently involved (MATES, TRAVISIONS2020, IMPRESSIVE, BE OPEN, DRIVE2THEFUTURE).
Among the most interesting activities of the EMD2019 in which Dr. Ergas (Research Director at WEGEMT) participated was the workshop with title: “The green course towards decarbonization: winning the challenge”, organized by Waterborne European Technology Platform; SeaEurope, European Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (HydrogenEurope), CSHIPP Clean Shipping project platform / Tallinn University of Technology and NABU German Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union.
